Zach returns to Virginia Opera to play The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, November through December, 2020, in Norfolk, Fairfax and Richmond. Production postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Zach joins composer Kamala Sankaram and Here Arts in NYC to premiere the first opera written for the Zoom platform while the majority of the USA is shut down during the Covid 19 pandemic. Watch online April 24-26, 2020.
Zach makes his Minnesota Opera debut in the world premiere of Paola Prestini and Mark Campbell's Edward Tulane, March 2020. This production has been postponed til further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Zach makes his Metropolitan Opera debut in their 2019/2020 season reprising his role as Amenhotep III in the Olivier Award winning production of Akhnaten. Performances November 8 through December 7, 2019 with a live in HD broadcast worldwide on November 23.
Zach reprises his role as The Scribe, narrating the epic Olivier Award winning production of Akhnaten, directed by Phelim McDermott, at English National Opera, marking his third ENO production of a Philip Glass work, February and March of 2019.
Zach participates in a developmental workshop of Terence Blanchard's new work, Fire Shut Up In My Bones, for Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, October 2018. The work will have its world premiere as part of OTSL's 2019 summer season.
Zach makes his Kurt Weill debut as Frank Maurrant in Street Scene with Virginia Opera, September 28th through October 14th 2018, marking almost ten years since being named a winner of the Kurt Weill Foundation's Lotte Lenya Competition.
